a golden serpent sheds through the water; unhinges its mouth and swallows the stalagmite. the flies in terror attempt to flee but fall short. a spiderweb of violet vapor shoots through the air, the flies hiss in agony as their bones explode into a magnificent pulse of red that coats the walls. without hesitation, a new batch of flies moves in to feed off of the fallen. PBJ
